Copal Smudge Stick
Copal is a product from Mexico and with its sharp fresh citrus-like scent looks very like Frankincense. This is a good choice for anyone who does energetic, purification or healing work. When the leaves are dry, they can be burned. This involves tied copal sage with a length of 10 cm. In this way it is easy to ignite. As soon as the top of the beam is lit you can wave it with a feather and spread the sacred smoke over objects, people and in all corners of a room.
Where does smudging come from?
The smudging ritual comes from the Native Americans. They burn the herbs to make contact with the spiritual world. They do this, among other things, to dispel evil energies and to evoke good energies. Thus they cleaned the living spaces and even persons from bad energies.
The ritual smudging has also found its way to Europe, although we usually do not evoke spirits with it. Here is mainly smudged to drive out unwanted smells and negativity. You can also smudge before or during a meditation.
How to use
Light the smudge at a 45-degree angle. Allow it to catch the flame and let the stick burn for a minute or so, before blowing it out. Visualize your intentions and fill your space with sacred smoke. Restore peace and calm. Enjoy the uplifting and positive effect.
When finished, place the smudge in a fireproof bowl of metal, glass, or clay. Always use caution and respect when working with fire.
*Never leave burning smudge unattended* Keep away from children and pets*
Smudge sticks can be extinguished in a dish of sand and re-used many times.
